does it look like i'm doing it right?
no, it looks like i am playing softball, doesn't it? which is how (ap-a-rant-ly) i swing a golf club.
sunday we golfed with kristen and jr. it was AWESOME outside but we all pretty much sucked it up on the course. kristen won i think. i got a 7 on every hole. 7 being the cap. EVERY. SINGLE.ONE. golf really is slightly infuriating (the ball is so small!!) especially when you are relatively decent at most sports. Must practice. Sigh.
Let’s see.
If you know ANYONE interested in the US Green Building Council of Arkansas please tell them to come to the conference we are planning for May 16th at the UALR Donaghey Student Center!! PLEASE! Send them a link to this website: www.usgbcar.org. The website sucks but it is informational! It’s called SUSTAINABLE ARKANSAS: BIG PICTURE, LOCAL IMPACT. We will teach you how to build environmentally friendly buildings... anyone? anyone? bueller?
Jennifer Lenore is coming to LR this week to work and play!
I am not currently planting or baking anything. I suck as a domestic-type-person-thing. Anyone want $1 Beer at US Pizza tonight?

Does that mean you're coming to US Pizza with me...?? :) Hooray!!!!
Brooke, you should totally come visit!
kat--TOTALLY interested in that conference...do i have to be a student of green building to pay the $25 student fee, or am i a "general attendee"?
brooke - i will get you the student rate since i am okaying all registrations... and anyone you would want to bring with you i would get the student rate too... you can find the regi form on the website! lunch is included with your $25 that day as well and you can come to whatever sessions you want! e me w/ any questions: my usgbc address is kat@usgbcar.org. rock. (sorry don't know your direct e!)
softball has forever ruined me for golf-- i swing it like a bat too : (
How did you not inherit the "golf" gene from your parents?
I'll pass the conference info on to all of my civil design firm contacts in Arkansas.
P.S. - The USGBC can be a real pain in my butt. Currently negotiating a modification to keep a new project LEED certified...
haha!
that's funny... we are having a LEED Seminar tomorrow at the new heifer building.. which btw you have to check out next time you are here because it is awesome!
I've never played golf, but I know for sure that I would not be very good. The whole hand-eye coordination involved in some sports just doesn't work for me.
You're finish looks good. Golf should be much easier than softball as the ball doesn't move. Don't despair I've had many 7 and worse in my career. Practice taking the club straight back away from the ball slowly. Most softball players pick the club up from the ball which doesn't work too well for a golf swing. And always remember the old maxim "A bad day at the golf course is still better than a good day at work."
We should learn together-Amy is determined to teach me this summer! I am going to file Dad's advice away for that day!
As I will be dealing with a crabby mother patient and wonderful(?) students on the day of your conference, I must pass. However, when I decide to build an office building because I have made millions from teaching, I will keep the green buildings in mind!
um you need to update that i am coming. that is all.
Seth needs to go to that, huh? I'll pass it onto him. Or, you can e him. BCC needs representation. I like to golf, but am not much better. We can practice. I'm more into contact sports. It's the competitor in me.
